The FLARE (Formative Language Assessment Records for ELLs) project is funded by a grant with generous support from the Carnegie Corporation of New York to develop and validate a formative assessment system for teachers serving English language learners (ELLs) at the secondary level.

FLARE is designed to help teachers measure students' language development with the goal of language proficiency and post-secondary academic success.
