Language Learning Targets

Adobe Systems

FLARE's language assessment frameworks are the template from which the language learning targets will be developed. Language learning targets are learning progressions framed by the four linguistic components: language functions, vocabulary, grammar, and language discourse. The language learning targets will be designed to support short term language learning goals. Accordingly, they will be written such that teachers can use them to set, target and evaluate their language learning goals. FLARE's language learning targets will be organized into two grade level clusters: middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12). They will be structured into three tiers and by four content strands: English language arts, mathematics, science and social studies.
